Ph.D., Researcher

Juan Francisco Miñambres Redondo

Juan Francisco Miñambres Redondo obtained his Ph.D. in 2013 at the University of Córdoba, since then he has developed an international career throughout Europe. His Ph.D. was focused on the selective hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde through Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley (MPV) reduction over modified zirconia catalysts. Afterward, a first postdoc position was carried out at Jacobs University Bremen studying the applicability of polyoxometalates as a catalyst for hydrogenation of petroleum derivatives at high pressure. Continuing in Germany, a new postdoc position was developed in TU Bergakademie Freiberg, in which the research topic was the synthesis, characterization, and testing of metal oxides obtained from Metal-organic frameworks (MOF) through the “sacrificial template method.”

Currently, he is involved in the study and application of zeolite materials in catalytic studies in the liquid and gas phase reaction at Charles University in Prague in the Jiří Čejka´s research group.
