Subhajyoti Samanta

Subhajyoti Samanta received his master degree in Chemical Science from Guru Ghasidas Central University, India in 2011. He obtained his doctoral degree in Chemistry from the Catalysis Research Group, Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar under the supervision of Prof. Rajendra Srivastava in 2020. His doctoral thesis entitled “Metal oxide-based nanocomposite materials for energy and fuel production” was adjudged as the best thesis in 2020 and was awarded the Institute Silver Medal in Science. His research contributions were recognized by the National Research Foundation, Singapore and was awarded with the Young Scientist at the Global Young Scientist Summit (GYSS) 2020 in Singapore. He was also worked as Junior Research Fellow in a Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, MNRE-New Delhi sponsored project from 2013 to 2014 at CSIR-Institute of Mineral and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar, India. From March 2021 to June 2022, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA with Prof. Jonas Baltrusaitis focusing on the research project of ‘heterogenous catalysis for flue gas upgradation and Spectro-kinetic investigation’. He acquired the industrial working experience in the International Market Support Group in Mettler Toledo in India as an Application Specialist in the Analytical Chemistry for a tenure of ten months in 2023.
His current research interests are focused on the spectroscopic characterization acidic zeolites using In-situ and operando FTIR techniques.
