New course: Artificial Intelligence in Chemistry
We are opening a new course Artificial Intelligence in Chemistry, starting in February 2026. Over 12 meetings, students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of modern artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a focus on their applications in chemistry.
The course combines short lectures with practical computer-based exercises. Students will learn how AI tools can assist in chemical research, from data analysis to building simple predictive models.
Course highlights:
-
Introduction to artificial intelligence and machine learning for chemists
-
Basics of neural networks
-
Working with scientific and chemical data
-
Using AI tools to support modeling and analysis in chemistry
-
Hands-on computational exercises throughout the semester
Intended for:
Bachelor’s and Master’s students in chemistry, physical chemistry, or related fields. Basic programming experience is helpful but not strictly required.
If you are curious about how AI is transforming the way chemists work and think, this course will provide a solid and practical introduction.
Start: February 2026
Format: 12 weekly meetings (2 hours each)
