Postdoc position in Synthesis of two-dimensional materials
The Faculty of Science, Charles University (Prague, Czechia) invites applications for a Post-doctoral position in the Department of Physical and Macromolecular Chemistry.
The position is open for experimental chemist with strong background in material science, ideally, expertise in synthesis and characterization of 2D materials. The research will focus on synthesis and characterization of novel types of two-dimensional materials, including metal carbides (MXens) and their surface modifications. The research will focus on synthesis of variously functionalized 2D metal carbides, study their electrochemical properties and their application in spintronic, energy storage and catalysis. Eligibility criteria:
- Ph.D. or other appropriate level 8 ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) qualification completed within the last seven years.
- The applicant must have had at least 2 published, peer-reviewed research outputs in the last 3 years.
- All research activities will be conducted in English; knowledge of the Czech language is not required.
- Advanced level of written and spoken English.
Selection process:
- Selection will be based on the relevance of candidates’, professional interests and experience and on excellence in research achievements.
Position duration, starting date and remuneration:
- The position tenure is through May 2022 (first contract for 12 months), starting on July 1st 2020 or later, however, starting date is flexible. The gross monthly salary is 2100 EUR and benefits, including health insurance and social insurance coverage.
