Luis A.M. Carrascosa obtained his doctorate (2020) in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Cádiz. In addition, he has a bachelor’s degree (2012) and a master’s degree (2014) in Chemistry.
He has developed his research career in the field of materials science and nanotechnology. Specifically, he has worked in:
- development of silica nanomaterials with consolidative, superhydrophobic and/or photocatalytic properties for the conservation and restoration of building materials;
- thermal treatments of quartz sands;
- synthesis of colloidal and supported metallic nanoparticles from organometallic synthesis route for organic catalysis.
Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Heterogeneous Catalysis and Advance Materials group, headed by Prof. Jiří Čejka and belonging to the Physical Chemistry Department of Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic). He is involved, together with Dr. Pavla Eliášová, in the European Project DESIRED, which is focused on the development of photo(electro)catalysts for the reduction of CO2 to C2+ products.
He is author of several research publications including: 11 research papers in high-indexed journals (7 Q1), 1 invention patent, 1 book chapter and 1 conference paper (h-index:11, sum of the cites 333).
