Maksym Opanasenko

Dr. Maksym Opanasenko received his Master’s degree in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia. He pursued his doctoral studies at the L.V. Pisarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), where he earned his Ph.D. in 2011, specializing in porous polymeric and composite materials.

Since 2011, Dr. Opanasenko has been a member of Prof. Jiří Čejka’s group at the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry in Prague. In 2014, he held a visiting associate position in the group of Prof. Russell Morris at the University of St Andrews, United Kingdom. Since 2016, he has served as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague.

His research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel inorganic and hybrid organic–inorganic materials, particularly for their use as adsorbents and catalysts. He is especially interested in developing innovative synthetic strategies for functional materials.

Dr. Opanasenko is the author of 93 scientific publications (ResearcherID: F-5202-2014) and holds an h-index of 32.
