Labile elementosilicates as intermediates for design of novel materials
Zeolitesarecrystalline microporous materialswhich arewidely applied in the heterogeneous catalysis and gas separation. In this lecture, the unusual mechanisms of zeolite formation on both macro-(morphology) and nanoscale (structure) levels will be discussed. Mainfocuswill be puton (1) controllable crystallization mechanism of zeolite AST between classical and reversed crystal growth; (2) structural transformation on labile germanosilicates for synthesis of new zeolites.

Design of sustainable catalysts by post-synthesis modification of germanosilicate zeolites
Germanosilicate zeolites with unusual structure/extra-large pores are promising for the transformation of bulky molecules, however, a lack of strong (Brønsted/Lewis) acidity and high cost of germanosilicates limit
their practical use. This thesis focuses on post-synthesis modifications of the structure and chemical composition of germanosilicate zeolites coupled with Ge recycling to design sustainable catalysts with tailored acidic characteristics.
